One of the things that causes frustration in marriage is; each partner wants their mates to remain the same as when they were singles. The reality is that changes occur and if they are handled properly can lead to an heaven on earth experience in ones marriage. Please read on...
After some time in the marriage, you will discover some changes in your partner, he/she will appear different from the loving, caring person that you used to know while dating.
It is common for the men especially after marriage to relax in the way they treat their wives (taking them to eateries, cinema, etc.) compared to when they were still courting; someone said, “When people are courting they are living in love, but when they are married they live on budget.” The women usually feel frustrated, because the men they used to know after marriage appear, non-caring unlike the one they knew while courting.
It is also common for the women after marriage to become lackadaisical in the way they dress and make up. It affects the men because they are attracted by what they see, and once a married woman starts being uninterested in the way she dresses at home, the resultant effect is that the man starts loosing interest in her. Isaac Digi, a family consultant and a preacher made the following statement to buttress this point; Men change because there is what is called the enemies of marriage. First and foremost, you have what is called familiarity. You have become so familiar with him that you take him for granted. The man you used to paint your face for anytime you know he is coming, but all of a sudden, he is your husband now and he is coming. And it’s like, but he has seen me before, what am I looking for? But whether you like it or not, your appearance, have an effect on your husband.
When this change is seen after marriage, you have to lovingly let your spouse know how you feel. The change is not a conscious one, so you should lovingly point it to him/her.
The man by nature is the pursuant; the woman by nature is the respondent. Unfortunately after courtship, the hunter is likely to take his prey for granted.
