Do not neglect the family devotion

It is said that the family that prays together stays together. Initially during the early stage of the marriage, the devotion in your family will be done constantly, but as time goes on (when you have challenges, when the children start coming, etc.) the devotion will gradually decline in the number of times you do it and if nothing is done about it, both of you will stop praying altogether.

When this change occurs as the years move on in the marriage, lovingly point to your spouse the need to put God first in your home. This change may or may not be a conscious one, but you must not allow it to persist. Prayer keeps the devil a way from the home, and bring the presence of the Lord into it. Reverend Davis Afolabi said, “The institution that is in the devil’s first list is marriage”, it is therefore imperative that you live a life of communion with God so that He can protect you from the attacks of the enemy of both your soul and marriage. He only can bring a change in whatever has brought challenges into your home; He only can bring favour into all that you will do.

The first major marriage saver is to make your home a small church that worships God.
